Mrs. Elsie D. Chance

  Mrs. Elsie D. Chance, 80, of Anacoco, died Friday, March 30,
2001, in the Community Care Center in Leesville.

  Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, April 1, in the
Hixson Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Prewitt's
Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Masters officiated.

  Mrs. Chance was a native of Bon Weir, Texas, and a longtime
resident of the Anacoco/Vernon area Parish. She was a member of
Prewitt's Chapel Baptist Church, and a homemaker.

  Survivors include three daughters, Gloria Sanders of Hornbeck,
Frances Gaskin of Anacoco, and Sharlon Frederick of Leesville;
one son, Rodger D. Chance of Hornbeck; one brother, Cleo Alford
of Florien; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

  Mrs. Chance was preceded in death by her husband, F. C. Chance.
