Mrs. Mattie Chance

  Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Chance, age 69, of Hornbeck,
were held February 1st, at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Hixson's
Funeral Home.

  The Rev. Henry Chance officiated. Burial was in Mt. Carmel
Cemetery.

  Mrs. Chance died Wednesday, in Sabine Clinic.

  Survivors are her husband; four sons, W. M. Chance of Florien,
O. L. Chance of Hornbeck, J. F., and J. A. Chance of West Lake; a
daughter, Mrs. Alene Dowden of West Lake; three brothers, Rev.
Frank Laurence of Oakdale, Cap Laurence of Toro, Earvin Laurence
of Nederland, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Liza Freeman, and Mrs.
Kate Glaspie of Hornbeck; eighteen grandchildren; and four great
grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were grandsons, Bobby Gene, Harlan Ray, W. M. Jr.,
and Jimmie Chance, Roy Gene Dowden, and William Leach.
