Carmel Baptist Church. Officiating was the Rev. J. C. Edwards, and assisting was the Rev. Earl Marr. Burial was in Ft. Jesup Cemetery under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Mrs. Canady, 74, of Florien, died on Jan. 24 after a short illness. She is survived by four sons; Telton E., and Ural Canady, both of Baton Rouge, Harold R., and Ellis E. Cannady, both of Leesville, three daughters; Mrs. James Henson, and Mrs. Jim Scallan, both of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Wallace Dowden of Port Arthur, Tex., two step-sons; Jack Canady of Plain Dealing, and Louis Canady of Buna, Tex., a brother; Allen Phillips of Leesville, one sister; Mrs. Ovada Phillips of Florien, 19 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were her nephews.
