S. Hwy. 71, at Lamourie near Alexandria, Monday night, Feb. 26. According to state police reports, Conner was killed when the car in which he was a passenger was struck by another auto as the driver, his son, Clayton Conner Jr., 25, was attempting to back from a Wag-A-Bag Store into U. S. Hwy. 71. The car was struck in the right rear fender, by a southbound car driven by Curry A. Guillot of Pineville. The Conner vehicle was spun around by the collision, bounced over on its right side, and turned side up again. Conner Jr., and two other passengers, Margaret Conner, 50, both of Pleasant Hill, and Lawrence Bougere, 64, were treated and released from Huey P. Long Memorial Hospital. Sallie Bougere, 64, another passenger, was transferred to Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport, with undetermined injuries. The Bougeres are from Pelican.
