Currie 8 Nov 1946 - Funeral services for held Friday, Oct. 25, at Belmont church for D. M. Currie, formerly of Sabine Parish, but for several years a resident of San Antoni, Texas. Mr. Currie will be remembered for his association with the singing conventions of this parish in years passed. He was a member of Belmont church, was 69 years of age. Drewett funeral home of Mansfield had charge and the service was conducted by E. C. Harris of West Lake, assisted by Rev. E. Hagan of Pleasant Hill and Rev. Julian Jones of DeRidder. Mrs. H. M. Prothro, Lyndell Bell, O. L. Sanders, Ellis Anderson and D. C. Ethredge rendered special musical numbers. Mr. Currie is survived by his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Laverna Ramsey postmaster at Pleasant Hill; Mrs. John W. Darnell of Clinton, Okla., and Mrs. Mozelle Engard, of Des Moines, Iowa, three grandchildren, five sisters and two brothers.
