  Effie Creech - November 22, 1973

  Mrs. Effie Irene Creech, 66, of Shreveport, died early Thursday,
Nov. 15, in Willis Knighton Memorial Hospital after a brief
illness.

  Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, in the Marshall
Street chapel of Rose - Neath Funeral Home.

  The Rev. Jerry Savelle, evangelist from Fort Worth, Tex.,
officiated and burial was in Forest Park West Cemetery.

  A native of Hornbeck, Mrs. Creech had resided in Shreveport
since 1939 and was a member of the Pentecostal church.

  Survivors include four sons, Olen Creech, Edward Creech and
Elvin Creech, all of Shreveport and James Creech of Rosenberg,
Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Reese Dowden of Shrevpeort; five
brothers, Gary Brown of Baton Rouge, Homer Brown of Florien,
Clarence Brown, Roy Brown and Luther Brown, all of Shreveport;
three sisters, Mrs. Mammie Waldrop of Porter, Tex., Mrs. Obra
Shaw of Shreveport and Mrs. Ruby Lee Waldrop of Kirbyville, Tex.;
nine grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.
