Dock Lazarine, Rev. Van Harris, and Rev. Buster Grigg officiating. Interment followed in the Huntington Cemetery. Mr. Cowart was born December 17, 1906, in Many, and died December 9, in Lufkin, Texas. Mr. Cowart was a truck driver for Peco Oil Company for fifteen years. He had lived in Diboll for the past five years, and lived in Huntington most of his life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Diboll. Survivors include his wife, Savelia Cowart of Diboll; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Ruth Cowart of Lufkin, Rev. Amos and Nell Cowart of Elkhart; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Truman Hall of Huntington; sister, Beulah Wooley of Lufkin; half brother, Truman Cowart of San Antonio; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; step daughters, Maxine Cloudy of Nacogdoches, Gwen Whitfield of Deweyville, and Yvonne Huff of Orange; step sons, Billy Ray Marze of Deweyville, and C. V. Marze of Lufkin; sixteen step grandchildren. Pallbearers were his grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Steve Cowart, Elton Grimes, David Cowart, David Miracle, Richard Hall, and Harold Kendrick.
