All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - LeRoy Curtis 3 Apr 1959 - Brief funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, morning at Sercy Baptist church at Trout for LeRoy Curtis, 62, a resident of Trout for many years; who passed away Wednesday morning at 5:12 a.m. in the Baptist hospital in Alexandria, after a brief illness. Full funeral rites were held at Zion Hill Baptist church at 3 p.m. Thursday, with Rev. Vercie Miller and Rev. Billie Jackson officiating. A Shriner, Masonic rites were held by the Knights Templar of Jena and the Masonic Lodge of Negreet. Interment was in Zion Hill cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral home of Jena. A native of Negreet he is survived by his widow, Mrs. LeRoy Curtis, one son, Jamse LeRoy, mother, Mrs. Lou Curtis of Many; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Barnes of McRae, Ga., Mrs. Esther Wright of Many; five brothers, Riley of Shreveport, Lynne of Florien, Alvin of Negreet, John of Orange, Texas and Norman of Many. He was an employee of Standard Oil Co. for 35 years. Honorary pallbearers wee fellow employees of Trout and Jena.
