Dr. Joe McClain officiated. Burial was at Greenoaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Baton Rouge. Dr. Curtis died at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 6, 1987, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Gandy, La. He was the director of the LSU School of Vocational Education. He is survived by his wife, Leola Fish Curtis of Baton Rouge; his mother, Mrs. Emmaline Curtis of Hornbeck; one daughter, Mrs. JoAnn Curtis-Rogers of Baton Rouge; one son, Thomas David Curtis Sr. of Lafayette; one sister, Mrs. Clarice Maul of Graceville, Fla.; four brothers, Willis Ray Curtis Sr. of Leesville, Asa Curtis of Shreveport, Emil Curtis of Hornbeck, and Hoy Curtis of Beaumont, Tex.; and four grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Charlie M. Curtis Scholarship Fund, c/o the LSU Alumni Foundation, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge.
