Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 25, at First Baptist Church of Many, with interment following at Zion Hill Cemetery in Negreet. Dr. Ed Scott, the Rev. John Koelemay, and the Rev. Billy Burkett officiated. Mrs. Curtis served the public for 34 years in the Sabine Parish Clerk of Court's office. She was Chief Deputy under several administrations, before retiring in 1984. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Many, Chapter 171 Order of Eastern Star, the Sabine Parish Chamber of Commerce, the Toledo Bend Lake Association, and the South Toledo Bend Civic Association. Survivors include four children, Douglas W. Curtis Jr. and wife Beverly of Tallulah, John W. Curtis and wife Pam of Many, Linda L. Curtis of Toledo Bend, and Phyllis Longmire and husband David of Shreveport; 14 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a nephew, Chris Moore of Coushatta; sister-in-law, Pat Moore of Shreveport; and a special friend, John Hodnett of Florien. Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by her father, John C. Moore Jr.; her mother, Dovie L. Raybourn; and her brothers, John W. Moore. Pallbearers were her grandsons, John W. Curtis Jr., Jess T. Curtis, Joe Louviere, Jon Worley, Moses Curtis, Chuck Bradford, and Kevin Bradford. Honorary pallbearers were Evonne Gandy, Maggie Harvey, Doris M. Wright, Dollie M.
