Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Emma Curtis of Hornbeck; five sons, Charlie Curtis of Baton Rouge, Emil Curtis of Houston, Tex., Ada Curtis of Shreveport, Hoy Curtis of Beaumont, Tex., and Ray Curtis of Springhill; a daughter, Mrs. Clarice Coul of Graceville, Fla.; three half brothers, Cecil, and Earl Stringer, both of Hornbeck, and Walter Stringer of Kirbyville, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Lela Sandel of Florien; 12 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Oct. 7, with the Rev. Wayne Read, and the Rev. C. V. Chance. Burial was in the Prospect Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.
