The Rev. Estel Fleming officiated, assisted by the Rev. Danny Griffin. Burial was at the Munnerlyn Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Courtney, a housewife, died Tuesday, April 10, 1984, in Atlanta, Texas, after a short illness. She was born in Doddridge, Ark. She was a member of Mira Baptist church in Mira, La. She is survived by two sons, A. C. Courtney of Scranton, Pa., and Bill Courtney of Hosston; three daughters, Myrtes Wynn, Gertrude Summer, and Aimetha Farmer, at Ida, La.; three sisters, Fannie Graves of Florien, La., Sarah Fullilove of Shreveport, La., and Myrtis Ryan of Atlanta, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Sherman Wynn Jr., Jim Courtney, Bobby Stevens, Don Courtney, James Courtney, and Jerry Courtney.
