All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Ethelene Crittenden (Photo) Mrs. Ethelene Crittenden, a lifelong resident of Sabine Parish, was laid to rest Dec. 7, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. Funeral services were held at Alford Heights Baptist Church, with interment following in Pine Knot Cemetery. Mrs. Crittenden, a retired civilian personnel clerk at Fort Polk, where she worked for 20 years, died Dec. 4, at Grace Home in Shreveport. She was born on Nov. 21, 1916, in Converse. Mrs. Crittenden devoted countless hours to church activities at Alford Heights Baptist Church, where she was a charter member. She was well known throughout Sabine Parish, for her unselfish attitude, concern for others, and love of family. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, B. W. and Gayle Crittenden of Many, and Charles William and Vickie Crittenden of Keithville; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and George Grimes of Baton Rouge, Martha Lynn and Jimmy Don Anderson of Many, and Norma Beth and Kenny Guillory of DeSoto, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and sister, Mrs. Laura Jackson of Shreveport. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Rutha Derrick; husband of 41 years, Emmitt Durren Crittenden; two brothers, John Leonard Derrick and Henry Ralph Derrick; three sisters, Mrs. Edna McPhearson, Mrs. Nellie Young, and Mrs. Ruth Elaine Harnage. Officiating the funeral were the Revs. Wayne Chance, Dean Crittenden, and Cyle Clayton. Pallbearers were grandsons, Robert Wayne Crittenden, Wade Crittenden Sr., Shane Anderson, and Christopher Guillory; and grandsons-in-law, Dale Perritt, and Eddie Burden. Alternate pallbearers were Jimmy Hennessey, Jason Tibbetts, and Chris Willcutt. Honorary pallbearers were great grandson, Justin Byles, Wade Crittenden Jr., Brandon Byles, Nathan Anderson, John Austin Perritt, Hudson Perritt, Jordan Derek Crittenden, Kyler Burden, and Ryan Anderson.
