Willie Carter

  Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 12, at 1 p.m.,
at the Northwest District Auditorium, Mansfield, for Willie
Carter, 71, of Pelican, who died at Schumpert Memorial hospital,
Sunday, April 8, at 3:45 a.m.

  He was a member of the St. Peter Baptist Church, and the Prince
Hall Masons, Pleasant Hill Lodge No. 179.

  He is survived by his widow; one son, Fred Carter of Shreveport;
three daughters, Marie C. Williams, and Earnie Mae Thomas, both
of Shreveport, and Geneva C. Bell of Asbury Park, N. J., and one
sister, Lula Berry of Baton Rouge.
