Mrs. Joy Carter

  Mrs. Joy Carter, 68, of Many, died in Shreveport on Friday, Aug.
23, at 9:54 a.m., following an extended illness.

  Mrs. Carter is survived by two sons, Ronald Carter, and Roland
Carter, both of Many; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Arthur, Many;
Mrs. Peggy Hildebrand, Mansfield; and Mrs. Louise Freeman,
Jasper, Tex.; five brothers, Ottis Gandy, Many; Buddy Gandy,
Hemphill, Tex.; Charlie Gandy, DeRidder; John Gandy, Shreveport;
and Robert Gandy, Houston, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Betty
Peterson, Many; Mrs. Carrie Hamrick, Shreveport; Mrs. Geraldine
LaBeau, New Iberia; 16 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held in the Beulah Baptist Church on
Saturday, August 24, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Coda Salter, and
the Rev. Kenneth Leach officiating. Burial was in the Beulah
Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Her grandsons served as pallbearers.
