All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** John Carter John Carter, 84, of Many, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 8:20 p.m., in a local hospital Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 27, at 2:30 p.m., at the Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Willie Thrash officiating. Burial was under the direction of Thomas Funeral Home of Many. Mr. Carter was a native of Ville Platte, but had resided in Many since 1941. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Mae Carter of Many; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Lee Barrett of Many; one sister, Mrs. Annie Henry of Alexandria; two grandsons, Robert Collins Carter, Richmond, Calif., and Cleveland Barrett of Many; 6 granddaughters, one great-great grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
