Effie W. Carter

  Effie W. Carter, 79, of Florien, died Friday, May 11, at 10
p.m., in Fraser Hospital - North, after an extended illness.

  The funeral was held on Sunday, May 13, at 2 p.m., in the Many
United Pentecostal Church, with the Rev. Bill white officiating.

  Survivors include her husband, Walter Carter of Florien; two
daughters, Mrs. Lucille Nolen of Rosepine, and Mrs. Bessie Hardy
of Many; three brothers, J. C. Wood, and D. C. Wood, both of
Shreveport, and Otha Wood of Pleasant Hill; two sisters, Mrs.
Jessie Todd, and Mrs. Bertha Reed of Pleasant Hill; 7
grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great
grandchildren.
