Carter of Boyce, died September 9, 1983, at the age of 83. He was a member of the Boyce Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Carter were held at 1 p.m., on September 12, at the Boyce Baptist Church. The Rev. Efferson, pastor of the church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Reynard of Twin Bridges Church in Alexandria. Burial followed at the Kisatchie Cemetery in Kisatchie, with Masonic graveside services. He is survived by one son, B. E. Carter, Port Sulphur, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Loriece C. Dewitt, Springfield, Ohio, Mrs. Donald H. Tyer, Rancho Cordova, Calif., and Mrs. V. O. Cedars, Alexandria; two brothers, S. G. Dowden, Kisatchie, N. A. Dowden, Okolona, Miss.; four sisters, Mrs. Maude Rector, Alco, La., Mrs. Agnes Chance, Anacoco, Mrs. Rozelle Murray, Simpson, and Mrs. Amanda Betts, Alco; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Terry Cedars, Tracy Cedars, Stephen Dowden, J. T. Carter, Danny Morgan, and Robbie Epperson.
