C. R. Raney officiating, and the Rev. C. L. Gosey, and George Spencer Sibley, assisting. Burial was at New Jerusalem Cemetery, under the direction of Thomas Mortuary. Mrs. Carter passed away, Jan. 20, 1987, at Sabine Medical Center. She was born February 5, 1908, and was a faithful member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Lee Barrett of Many; one son, Mr. Robert Edward Carter of Richmond, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Lee Zellars of Alexandria, and Mrs. Ophelia Mincy of Many; one brother, Mr. Noah Hayden of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
