Mrs. Gladys Carter

  Mrs. Gladys Carter, 84, died at Sabine Medical Center in Many,
on April 25, 1989. She taught school in Sabine Parish for 43
years.

  Services were held at Zion Hill Baptist Church, on Thursday,
April 27, at 2 p.m., with Dr. G. Earl Gwin, and Rev. Marvin Lane
officiating. Burial was at Zion Hill Cemetery, under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Survivors include her husband, Amos L. Carter of Negreet; one
daughter, Beth Boyens of Many; one step daughter, Frances Inez
Whitman of Negreet; three step sons, Bernie Carter of San
Antonio, Tex., A. L. Carter Jr. of Pleasanton, Tex., and Isaac
Carter of Negreet; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and
a host of nieces and nephews.
