Mrs. Clara Carter

  Mrs. Clara Carter, 94, died Monday, July 16, 2001, at North
Sabine Nursing Home.

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, at
Union Baptist Church in Belmont, with interment following at
Belmont Cemetery. The Rev. Glen Howard, and the Rev. Vernon
Stephenson officiated.

  Survivors include two sons, William F. Carter, and Glen and wife
Lavern Carter, both of Belmont; 11 grandchildren; and a host of
great, and great-great grandchildren and friends.

  Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Carter;
two daughters, Marguerite Yates, and Marjorie Roberts; two sons,
Virgil and J. C. Carter.
