Carter, 81, of Pleasant Hill, died March 18, from an extended illness. Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Hill First Baptist Church, March 19, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. J. C. Salley officiating. Burial was in the Belmont Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. E. T. Carter of Pleasant Hill; two sons, Willis Carter of Friendswood, Tex., and Edward Carter of Pocahontas, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Hunter Yearwood of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. George Cook of Many; one sister, Miss Mae Carter of Belmont; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
