Carroll 4 Aug 1944 - Funeral services for Sidney L. Carroll, who died Sunday in Colfax, were held Tuesday, Aug. 1, in the Many Methodist church at 10:30 a.m. Services were conducted by Rev. J M. Alford of Colfax, assisted by Rev. R. T. Pynes and Rev. L. N. Hoffpauir of Many. Mr. Carroll was born near Noble Sept. 15, 1872. He was one of Sabine's leading merchants for many years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ada Fraser Carroll; one daughter, Mrs. Myles Danner of Charleston, S. C.; one son, Dixon Carroll of Shreveport; five grandchildren, Irwin Dixon Carroll, Sidney Carroll, Malcom Danner, Mary Carroll Danner and Olivia Danner. The active pallbearers were George H. Thomas, T. M. Phillips, Robert Gay, Glen Phares, Ralph Fraser, James Bower, Dr. S. F. Fraser and Edwin Fraser. The honorary pallbearers were his many close friends.
