Bonnie Thaxton Corley

  Services for Mrs. Bonnie Thaxton Corley, were held Sun., Oct.
21, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry DeLoach, pastor,
and the Rev. Larry Laurent officiated. Burial was in Mt. Carmel
Cemetery, directed by Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.

  Mrs. Corley, a life long resident of Mt. Carmel, died at
Schumpert Medical Center, Sun., Oct. 20, at 7:15 a.m.

  Mrs. Corley was educated in the schools of Sabine Parish, and
Louisiana State Normal in Natchitoches, La. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Rufus P. Corley; a daughter, Geraldine
Offer; and a grandson, John Corley.

  She is survived by two sons, Clayton Corley of Houston, Tex.,
James Corley of Huntsville, Texas; and a daughter, Neva Dowden of
Ft. Jesup; a brother, Raydon Thaxton of Mt. Carmel; sisters,
Christene Byrd, and Inez Davis of Mt. Carmel, Edith Thigpen of
Shreveport, and Myrtice Hendricks of Woodland, Georgia;
grandchildren, Jim Corley, Jennifer Witt, Donald, and Sarah
Corley, Janice Hall, William F. Offer, Jr., Charles Keith, and
Wayde Dowden; and seven great grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were her grandsons.

  Donations may be made to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
