R. L. Cherene

  R. L. Cherene, 76, of Converse, died Saturday, Sept. 18.

  Services were at 2 p.m., in the Noble Baptist Church, with the
Rev. Rodeheaver officiating. Burial was in the Cherene Cemetery,
Logansport, Drewett Funeral Home, Mansfield, was in charge.

  Survivors include his widow; four daughters, Mrs. K. R. Davis of
Westlake, Mrs. Harold Kesner of Haughton, Mrs. Sybil Lewandouski
of Houma, and Mrs. Harmon Austin Jr. of Orlando, Fla.; two sons,
Joe Cherene of Florien, and J. D. Cherene of Tallualh; two
brothers, Jack Cherene of Converse, and Ernest Cherene of
Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Shelbey of Doyline, Mrs.
Oscar Cherene, and Mrs. D. M. Brown, both of Grand Cane; 14
grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
