"Johnnie" Cornish Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 19, 2000, in the Delhomme Bertrand Chapel of the Flowers for Mrs. R. T. "Johnnie" Cornish, the former Janice Enez Tullos, 80, who died at 4 a.m., Sunday, June 18, 2000, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. The Rev. John DeLeeuw was Celebrant of the Mass, and Conducted the services, Geraldine Roy, Lisa Roy Sheppert, Joni Hamilton, Valerie Andrus, and Jodi Bollich rendered the following musical selections, "Amazing Grace", "On Eagle's Wings", "Be Not Afraid", and "I Will Always Love You". Janice, daughter of the late Louis T. Tullos, and the former Docia McVay, was a native of Tullos. She was a long time resident of Lafayette, and had lived in Many for the past twenty years. Johnnie and her husband, R. T., moved to Lafayette in the 1950's, when oil was booming. He was a founder of Mallard Oil Service until he started his own business, R. T. Cornish Incorporated, which was a diversified Oil Field Service Company. She was a member of Home Demonstration, and was a member of the Petroleum Club of Lafayette. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Rene D. (JoAnn) Delhomme of Lafayette, and Deborah Cornish Barrett, Palestine, Texas; two brothers, Lacy Tullos of Cotton Valley, and Buck Tullos of Ola; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren; and her cherished Chihuahua, Alvin. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. T. Cornish; one grandson, Rene D. Delhomme, Jr.; her son-in-law, Rene "Poochie" Delhomme, Sr.; and nine brothers and sisters.
