Carmichael died at the age of 78, on Monday, Sept. 27, at Fraser Hospital North in Many. Mrs. Carmichael was an area resident of Leesville and Many for 60 years. She was an active member of the First Methodist Church of Many. Mrs. Carmichael was also a member of the Women's Society of the First Methodist Church, and a Gold Star Mother in the American Legion Auxiliary. Funeral services for Mrs. Carmichael were held Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 10:30 a.m. Brother George McVay, and Bro. Joe Ratcliff officiated at the services. Interment was at Many Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Winfred Morris, Joe Luster, Glen Phares, Dr. L. O. Tockett, Gailor Phares, Pat Wright, Danny McCormick, and Warren A. Meadows. Surviving relatives include her husband of 62 years, Mr. Jack E. Carmichael of Many; one nephew, B. L. Adams of Houston, Tex.; one niece, Katheleen A. Jaris of Houston, Tex.; and a host of cousins and friends.
