All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mr. Joseph Paul Crnkovic (Photo) Mr. Joseph Paul Crnkovic, 93, was born March 18, 1907, in Starilaz, Yugoslavia. He died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at Schumpert Medical Center. He immigrated to the U. S. in 1910, at the age of three years, settling with his parents in Sabine Parish. Mr. Crnkovic was self educated. He was a carpenter and painter, a farmer, a barber, an early auto mechanic, and a musician. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle. He was especially devoted to the Blessed Mother. He firmly believed in the sanctity of life, and had a great respect for all living things. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with interment following at St. Joseph Cemetery. Father David Richter officiated. Survivors include seven grandchildren, Elaine Crnkovic, Nanette Crnkovic, Karen Crnkovic Brady, Vernon Crnkovic Jr., Paul Crnkovic, Darrell Crnkovic, and Michael Crnkovic; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Crnkovic; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends. Mr. Crnkovic was preceded in death by his parents, Bartol and Marija (Mary) Crnkovic; wife, Mary Procell; seven brothers, Tony, Stephen, Charlie, Alphonse, Willie, Rudolph, and Angel; three sisters, Tonka, Catherine, and Angeline; and one son, Vernon Crnkovic.
