All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Frances Ruth Choate Carmical Services for Frances Choate Carmical, (Coach), of Pasadena, Tex., went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, Sept. 6, after a battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 27, 1933, in Houston, Texas, to Thelma and Hollis Choate. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joe Paul Carmical; her daughter, Lenelle Ruth Carmical, both of Pasadena; and her brother, Hollis V. Choate Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska. Mrs. Carmical graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1952. She was a member of Richey St. Baptist Church since 1952. She was involved in the church, working with G.A.'s and W.M.U.'s. Mrs. Carmical loved to draw and paint scenery for the Christmas, Easter, and other programs at church. Her hobbies were building, and making her famous Grandy Carmical's biscuits. Mrs. Carmical worked for the Pasadena Independent School District for 28 years. She taught Physical Education at Fisher, Pearl Hall, and Williams Elementary. She was actively involved in the Special Olympics, and the Special Education programs for many years. Her work with the children in P.E. was one of her greatest loves. Her philosophy in teaching was Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way they should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 9, at Richey Street Baptist Church in Pasadena, with burial to follow in Grand View Memorial Park.
