All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Minnie Dew Mrs. Minnie Dew, 81, of Toro community, died Saturday, Dec. 13, at 1:15 a.m., in Many Hospital, following a long illness. Mrs. Dew's body laid in state at her son, Fred Dew's home in Toro, until funeral time, Sunday, Dec. 14. The funeral was held Sunday at 2 p.m., at the Pisgah Baptist Church in the Toro Ceommunity, with the Rev. O. J. Johnson, and the Rev. Carpenter officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Many, under the direction of Hixon Brothers Funeral Home in Leesville. Mrs. Dew is survived by four children, Catherine Chambers of Many; Fred Dew, Marion Dew, and Talmage Dew, all of Florien; 15 granchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; three brothers, C. T. Walden of Many, A. G. Walden of Zwolle, and Ois Walden of Grand Cane; and one sister, Selma Tatum of Shreveport. Her grandsons served as pallbearers. They were Benny Joe Dew, Thomas Harold Dew, Gary Miller, A. M. Dew, Donald Wayne Dew, and Jim Nye, a grandson-in-law, who substituted for Jerry Wayne Chambers. Chambers was unable to attend his grandmother's funeral.
