Davis, 85, of Belmont, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m., in the Belmont Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. P. King, and the Rev. Walker Ledfore officiating. Burial was in the Belmont Cemetery. Masonic rites were held at the graveside. Surviving relatives include his wife, Nora Davis of Belmont; two sons, Ralph Davis of Belmont, and Joe P. Davis of Alexandria; one daughter, Mrs. Minnie Lee Howard of Alexandria; three brothers, John Enoch, and Elijah Davis, all of Belmont; four sisters, Mrs. Biola Folks of Converse, Mrs. Beatrice Grey of Hammond, Mrs. Clara Carter of Belmont, and Mrs. Rena Patrick of Converse; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Glen Early, Billy Frank Carter, Joe Edward Skinner, Douglas Carter, Gerald Yates, and Billy Maxey. Honorable pallbearers were Euel Davis and Bernice Green.
