All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Cora Beth Davis 7 Dec 1934 - Death claimed one of Many's most winsome babies when Cora Beth Davis, aged two years and three months, was a victim of a heart attack at a Monroe sanitarium. The baby was apparently recovering from colitis when death came unexpectedly at twelve o'clock, November 29th. Funeral services were held Saturday morning from the Baptist church with the Rev. J. M. Pate, assisted by Rev. R. T. Young, officiating. Interment was in the Fort Jesup cemetery. Cora Beth was the adorable baby of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Davis, and granddaughter of the late Hon. and Mrs. Silas D. Ponder. Other relatives surviving are a brother and sister, Cecil Ponder and Laura Malva Davis, the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Davis of Florien; and the following aunts and uncles, Mrs. Hicks of Florien, A. G. and Harvey Davis of Many. Mrs. Robert Huff of Bonita, Mrs. Tom Vickers of Hagerman, New Mexico, Miss Lillian Ponder of Shreveport, Miss Malva Ponder of Many and DeVance Ponder of Monroe.
