Davis of Many, died in Many on Tuesday, April 30, at 1:45 p.m., following a short illness. Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Cecil Davis of Many; a son, C. P. Davis of Iowa City, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Bobby Davis of Gibsland, La., and Mrs. William Hearron of Shreveport; a brother, Judge W. H. Ponder of Many; a sister, Miss Lillian Ponder of Mer Rouge; 9 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Mrs. Davis was a lifelong resident of Many. She was retired from the Welfare Dept., and taught music in Many for many years. Funeral services were held in the Many First Baptist Church on Thursday, May 2, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Perry Lassiter officiating. Burial was in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
