All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Aubrey Davis Aubrey Davis, 57, of Pine Bluff, Ark., was pronounced dead on arrival at Jefferson Hospital in Pine Bluff Tuesday, Oct. 22. He died with a heart attack. He was owner of the Davis Auto service, and had operated the business for many years. A native of Florien, he was the son of the late John and Catherine Byrd Davis. He was reared and educated at Mt. Carmel High School, and attended NSU at Natchitoches, La. After serving in the Navy during World War II, he had established his auto service in Pine Bluff. During the war, he served in the Iwo Jima Campaign, and with the Sea Bees. He was a Mason, and a member of the Little Rock Consistory, the Sahara Shrine Temple, the United Commercial Travelers, and Fraternal Order of Police. He was a member of the South Side Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Vella Wagner, whom he married in 1939; a son, James Aubrey Davis, of Conroe, Ark.; a daughter, Mrs. Mike Kitter of Pine Bluff; five sisters, Mrs. Charles Huff of Madison, Ga., Mrs. Ellis Pentecost of Many, Mrs. Loran Robideaux of West Monroe, Mrs. Bob Bird of Shreveport, and Mrs. Bob Hamilton of Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, Kenneth Davis of West Monroe, and Carnadus Davis of Florien, and one grandson. He is the nephew of Mrs. Floyd Alford, Mrs. E. C. Ross, Mrs. Rellie Patrick, and Joseph Byrd, also of Sabine Parish. Funeral services was held Thursday, Oct. 24, at 1:30 p.m., in Pine Bluff. The Rev. Joe W. Atchison, and Dr. Bob Hamilton conducted the funeral services.
