Davis August 2, 1973 The Rev. John Monroe Davis, 73, of Natchitoches, died Tuesday in a Many hospital. Rev. Davis was a native of Pleasant Hill and a minister of the United Pentecostal Church and was in the ministry for 27 years. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 26, at 11 a.m. in the Oak Grove Apostolic Church near Natchitoches, with the Rev. David Aytes officiating assisted by the Rev. Billy White and the Rev. Hardy Droddy. Burial was in the Spring Ridge Cemetery near Pleasant Hill under the direction of the St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches. Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. A. G. Hardy of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Lewis Brinkley of Evans and Kathy Davis of Natchitoches, a son, the Rev. Glyn Davis of Natchitoches; three sisters, Mrs. Millie Strahan of Marthaville, Mrs. Louisianne Singletary of Marthaville and Mrs. Becky Tabor of Tyler, Tex. and two grandchildren.
