Davis 11 Jan 1952 - Funeral rites for Willie S. Davis, 61, who passed away suddenly at his home in Many, Friday, were conducted at St. John's Catholic church 9:30 a.m. Saturday by Father M. R. Gremillion, pastor. Interment followed under direction Warren funeral home. Pallbearers were T. M. Phillips, Oliver Elliott, George Autrey, Glen Phares, Jr., J. M. Jordan and Harold Andries. Surviving relatives include: the widow of Many; sons, Wilie Arthur Davis, Rodessa, Louis R. and James H. Davis, both of Many, and Murray Davis, Lake Charles; daughters, Mrs. George Foster and Miss Beatrice Davis, both of Many, and Mrs. Loyd LeCroy, Shreveport; brothers, R. C. and J. G. Davis, both of Port Arthur, Texas; sisters, Mrs. C. J. Hubley, Sr., and Mrs. Felix N. Buvens, both of Many, Mrs. H. H. Delhomme, Port Arthur, Texas, Mrs. L. F. Locke, Greenwood, Mrs. George D. Cobbs, Monroe, and eight grandchildren. Mr. Davis had served as deputy sheriff for 19 years, prior to which he was a farmer. He was a life-long resident of Many.
