Elijah F. Davis

  Funeral services for Elijah Franklin Davis, 73, of Many, were
held on Friday, Dec. 8, at 2:30 p.m., in the Union Baptist Church
of Belmont. Officiating were the Rev. Guy T. Burr, the Rev. J. P.
King, and the Rev. W. L. Ledford. Burial was in the Belmont
Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mr. Davis died at 5:40 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, in Fraser
Hospital-North, following a long illness.

  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Edna Davis of Many; one son,
Jimmy Davis of Shreveport; two daughters, Sue Ledford of
Shreveport, and Geraldine Early of Belmont; one brother, John R.
Davis of Belmont; four sisters, Clara Carter of Belmont, Viola
Folks, and Rena Bridges, both of Converse, and Beatrice Gray of
Hammond; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
