Joseph Gandy Davis

  Mr. Joseph Gandy Davis of Many, died Saturday, March 12, 1983,
at 8 a.m., at his residence, at the age of 82. Mr. Davis died
after a short illness.

  Funeral services were held Monday, March 14, at 2 p.m., at St.
John the Baptist Church in Many. Burial followed at St. John
Cemetery. Msgr. Bevins officiated. Services were under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Surviving relatives include his wife, Esther Hayes Davis, Many;
three sons, Francis Davis, Baton Rouge, Robert Davis, Orange,
Tex., Howard Davis, Groves, Tex.; three daughters, June Reeves
Nederland, Tex., Patsy Stubbs, Port Arthur, Tex., Sybil Wilson,
Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Winnie Hubley, Many, Alice Delhomme,
Port Arthur, Tex.; 25 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
