Loyd Davis of Milam, Tex., were held Saturday, Jan. 25, 1986, at 2 p.m., at New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Burial was in New Jerusalem Cemetery, under the direction of Thomas Mortuary. Rev. Davis departed his life January 19, 1986. He accepted Christ early in life, and remained with him, and devoted his time to teaching and preaching his word for thirty or more years. At the time of his death, he was the pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Many, St. Peters Baptist Church in Fisher, and New Hope Baptist Church in Mansfield. He was also president of the 12th district No. 3 Association. He leaves to mourn his passing, a lovely wife, Mrs. Birdie Mae Davis of Milam, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Catherine Underwood of Many; two sons, Mrs. Ollie Vee Davis of Many, and Mr. Glennon Garner of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Gardner of Center, Tex., and Mrs. Dora Edwards of San Augustine, Tex.; four step daughters; and one step son; 13 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Active pallbearers included Rev. Terrell Jones, Rev. J. B. Maxie, Rev. C. R. Raney Sr., Rev. Curtis Archie, Rev. O. W. Holden, Rev. Jacob Maxie, Rev. George Brown, and Rev. Amos Clark.
