Alvin Vernon Davis Sr.

  Mr. Alvin Vernon Davis Sr., 74, of Robeline, died at Schumpert
Medical Center, Shreveport, La., on Nov. 30, 1987.

  Services were held at Warren Meadows Chapel, on Dec. 2, 1987, at
2 p.m., with Rev. Ray Vandersomen, and Rev. Milton Pray
officiating. Burial was at Springridge Cemetery, under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  He is survived by his wife, Lillian Burton Davis of Robeline;
three sons, Alvin V. Davis Jr. of Robeline, Alfred V. Davis of
Rosepine, and Gary W. Davis of Atlanta, La.; six daughters,
Catherine Cooper of San Antonio, Tex., Jeannette Kahn of Canoga
Park, Calif., Barbara Armstrong of Zwolle, Alma Davis of Sherman
Oaks, Calif., Alice Christoph of Anchorage, Alaska, and Sue Davis
of New Llano; one brother, Leo Davis of Campti; one sister, Mary
Loftin of Ruston; 16 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
