Mrs. Mattie Davis

  4 May 1945 - Last rites for Mrs. Mattie Davis, age 60 years,
were held 3:30 p.m. last Wednesday from Prewitt's Chapel. Rev. H.
A. Martin officiated. Interment was in Prewitt's Chapel cemetery,
Hixon funeral home of DeRidder in charge.

  Surviving: husband, Robert P. Davis, three daughters, Ms. Aris
Brown, Mrs. King Spears and Mrs. F. B. Coan, all of Hornbeck;
eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers,
Leonard and Ben Jones, Trout, sister, Mrs. J. R. Price, Tout.

  Mrs. Davis died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. King Spears,
Hornbeck, Monday evening. Mrs. Davis has been a faithful member
of the Baptist church for many years.
