  Alvin Vernon Davis, Sr. - February 4, 1988

  Mr. Alvin Vernon Davis, Sr., 74, of Robeline, died at Schumpert
Medical Center in Shreveport on Nov. 30, 1987.

  Services were held at Warren Meadows Chapel on Dec. 2, 1987 at 2
p.m. with Rev. Ray Vanderson and Rev. Milton Pray officiating.
Burial was at Springridge Cemetery under the direction of Warren
Meadows Funeral Home.

  Survivors include his wife, Lillian Buton Davis of Robeline;
three sons, Alvin V. Davis, Jr. of Robeline, Alfred V. Davis of
Rosepine and Gary W. Davis of Atlanta; six daughters, Catherine
Cooper of San Antonio, Tx., Jeannette Kahn of Canoga Park, CA,
Barbara Armstrong of Zwolle, Alma Davis of Sherman Oaks, CA,
Alice Christoph of Anchorage, Alaska, and Sue Davis of New Llano,
La.; one brother, Leo Davis of Campti; one sister, Mary Loftin of
Ruston; 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
