  Roy Davis Sr. - June 2, 1988

  Services for the Rev. Roy D. Davis Sr. were at 10 a.m. Tuesday,
May 17 in the chapel of Southern Winnfield, with the Rev. Mike
Howell officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery,
Montgomery.

  Davis, 62, of Montgomery died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, May 15 in
Humana Hospital, Winn Parish.

  Survivors include his wife, Myrtis Davis of Montgomery; three
sons, Roy Davis Jr., Jimmy Wayne Davis and Roger Davis, all of
Winnfield; two daughters, Janette Kay Rushing of Montgomery and
Shirley Tatum of Marthaville; and five brothers, Barry Champion
and Auther Champion, both of Coushatta. Bobby Champion of New
Orleans, Earl Champion of Nashville, Tenn., and John Perry
Champion of Zerral, Utah.

  Pallbearers were Donnie Dunn, Elzie Bryant, Robert Tolbert, Carl
E. Dubois, Kenny Simmons and Roy Weaver.
