Davis, 68, of Rush, Texas, were held Monday, September 16, in Cushing, Texas. Mr. Davis passed away Sept. 14, in Rush, after a lengthy illness, from cancer. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery in Cushing, Texas. He was born in Florien, Feb. 12, 1923, the son of James and Susie Davis. He served in the Army during World War II, seeing action on Solomon and New Guinea Islands. He was discharged November 29, 1945. Mr. Davis was a toolpusher for 31 years for Gulf. He lived in Houston, Texas until retirement 6 years ago, to Rush, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Jewel Davis of Rush, Texas; one daughter, Shana Wilson of Rush, Texas; one brother, Charley Davis of New Iberia; two sisters, Mrs. Laurinda Clanan of Natchitoches, and Myrtis Mooney of DeRidder. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. And Mrs. James L. Davis; one son, William Davis; three brothers, Willie, Benny, and Suil Davis; two sisters, Mentie Potter, and Princess Wynn.
