"Sap" Davis, 73, of Robeline, were held at the Chapel of the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, Tuesday, June 6, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. William H. Hassan officiating. Burial followed in the Springridge Cemetery near Pleasant Hill. He died at 8:45 p.m., Saturday, June 3, at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport. A native of Marthaville, Mr. Davis resided in Robeline, where he was the retired manager of Roberts Lumberyard. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Central Baptist Church of Robeline. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Maxine Roberts of Natchitoches, and Mrs. Juanita Darnell of Robeline; three nieces and their husbands, Kathy and Andy Jenkins, Susan and Joe Bernard, both of Natchitoches, and Sandra and Bobby Cook of Colfax; two nephews, Randall and Bernice McElwee of Crowley, and Tommy McElwee of Logansport; six great nieces, Gloria and John Worthy, and Layna and Jim Grau, both of Shreveport, Jennifer and Brian Olliff of Natchitoches, Shelly and Chad Guillory of Crowley, Brandy McElwee of Crowley, and Misty McElwee, and Allison Jenkins, both of Natchitoches; four great nephews, Randy McElwee of Crowley, Archie McElwee of Marthaville, and Justin, and Taylor Bernard of Natchitoches; and one great-great nephew, Cody Olliff of Natchitoches; and a special friend, Lois Broadway and family. The family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
