Mrs. Bessie Davis

  Mrs. Bessie Davis, 78, of Marthaville, passed away Saturday,
Sept. 21, in a Natchitoches hospital, following a lengthy
illness.

  Survivors include one son, Dalford Davis of Ft. Worth; five
daughters, Mrs. Elzanda Dans, Mrs. Blanche Shirley, Mrs. Allie
Birdwell, Mrs. Lois Durr, and Mrs. Pearl Durr of Marthaville; one
brother, Greenwood Free of Natchitoches; 30 grandchildren; and 48
great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 3 p.m., in the
Jennings Chapel Congregational Methodist Church. The Rev. Foster
Jennings officiated.

  Interment was in Bethany Cemetery, under the direction of Warren
Meadows Funeral Home.
