All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Robert Jackson (Bob) Davenport (Photo) The family of Robert Jackson (Bob) Davenport, celebrated his life at graveside services in Monahans, Texas, Friday, January 18, at 4:30 p.m., under the direction of Harkey Funeral Chapel. A former Sabine Parish resident, he died January 18, in Monahans, Texas. He was born March 2, 1905, in DeRidder, to Jasper Newton Davenport, and Mollie Courtney Goodloe Davenport. The family moved back to Sabine Parish when he was six weeks old, and he spent most of his growing up years in the Many area. He moved to El Paso, Texas in 1927, and made his home there until the past year. Through the years, he returned to visit family and friends in Sabine Parish. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by sons, Rodney O. Davenport of El Paso, Texas, Willard S. Davenport of San Antonio, Texas, and Kenneth W. Davenport of Huntsville, Texas; daughters, Patt Choquette of Silverton, Oregon, Rhelda Harris of Saint Jo, Texas, and Lovine McCurdy of Monahans, Texas; sisters, Vernon Miller of Gladewater, Texas, Vessie Webb of Baton Rouge, and Edith Leonard of Shreveport; twenty grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Oak Hill Baptist Church in Many.
