All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Orville Dupree Funeral services for Orville "Dick" Dupree were held at 4 p.m. on Monday, July 1, in the Chapel of the Osborn Funeral Home, with Dr. James Middleton, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Shreveport, and Rabbi David Lefkowitz Jr. of the B'nai Zion Temple officiating. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. Dupree, 59, of Shreveport, died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at his farm near Coushatta, when a tractor he was driving overturned. A native of Martin, he was a Shreveport resident for 30 years, and a former member of the Caddo Parish School Board. Mr. Dupree was also a member of the Petroleum Club, and the American Legion, the retired president of the Holicer Gas Co., a former schoolteacher at Florien and Cotton Valley, and a World War II veteran. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Marguerite Dover Dupree of Shreveport; one son, Richard Dupree of Houston, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Sanders B. Cox of Dallas, Tex.; five brothers, W. B. Dupree of Martin, Theron Dupree of West Monroe, Vernon Dupree of Baton Rouge, W. D. Dupree of Shreveport, and Dr. J. G. Dupree of Bunkie; seven sisters, Mrs. George Anderson of Norway, Mich., Mrs. Zelma Howell of Martin, Mrs. Roy Johnson of Bunkie, Mrs. Jim Winner of Houston, and Mrs. E. E. White, Mrs. Norma Bonnevier, and Mrs. Bertie Mae Keith, all of Shreveport, and one grandchild. Pallbearers were J. L. Teer, E. E. White, A. P. Taylor, J. D. Caruthers, S. Y. Friedman, and I. B. Dupree.
