All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Nell Anthony Dover 21 Feb 1996 - Funeral services for Mrs. Nell Anthony Dover, 77, of Shreveport, were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1996 in the chapel of Osborn Funeral Home in Shreveport. Officiating was Dr. Jon Stubblefield of First Baptist Church assisted by Rabbi Harold F. Caminker of B'Nai Zion Temple. Burial followed at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave. Mrs. Dover was born June 6, 1918 and was a native of Negreet and a resident of Shreveport for 50 years. She was a member of the Shreveport chapter of D.A.R. She was a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church and of late of First Baptist Church. Along with her husband, Marion, she was a member of B'nai Zion Congregation. She attended Northwestern College in Natchitoches and taught school in Sabine Parish. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was an active volunteer in school, scouting, and sports activities. Mrs. Dover was preceded in death by her parents, James and Exa Anthony, her sisters, Burlyn Jones and Doris Miller; and her brother, James Hoyt Anthony. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Marion H. Dover; daughters, Marilyn Dover Newman (husband Dennis) of Coral Springs, Fla and Martha Dover (husband Dr. Jon Swan of Vancouver, Washington; son Mark P. Dover (wife Susan) of Alexandria; grandchildren, Stephanie Elizabeth Payne and Michael Joseph Newman of Coral Springs, Fla., and Julie Dover Swan of Vancouver, Washington. Pallbearers were Carl Jones, Richard Dupree, John Swan, Paul Spiller, Jerry Miller and Tommy Anthony.
