All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Joe Dover (Photo) Funeral services for Joe Dover, 78, of Florien, who died at about 3 a.m., Monday, in a Shreveport hospital, after a long illness, was held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, in Osborn's Chapel, Shreveport, with Rabbi David Lefkowitz officiating. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. Dover, a prominent business executive and financier, was president of the Holicer Gas Co. Inc., and formerly was a merchant in Florien. He also had been an automobile dealer in Many, and for many years, operated a finance company in Many. Born in Germany, he was a member of Gemiluth Chassodum Temple of Alexandria, had been president of the Sabine Parish Library Board since it's organization, and was active in Boy Scout work. He had been a resident of Sabine Parish since 1900. Survivors include his widow; two sons, Max Dover, and Marion Dover of Shreveport; a daughter, Mrs. Marguerite Deupree of Shreveport; 11 grandchildren, all of Shreveport, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jim Leach, H. E. Williams, Gordon G. Williams, Edward L. Williams Jr. Cecil Williams, and Byron Williams Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. M. D. Hargrove, Dr. J. R. Stamper, Dr. Ernest B. Flake, and all employees of Holicer Gas Co. Inc.
